We’ve all been here…
The group is gathered to address a particular event, concern, issue.
Everyone present has something to say.
Side conversations break out. Voices rise. A few dominate…. others interrupt and some drop out, choosing to watch, listen and gather their thoughts.
Then someone throws a conversation firecracker into the mix.
Stunned silence… then a few whispers (can you say that….. you can’t say that!!!………did someone say that?)
As the meeting leader or facilitator there are two key strategies you can use to get things back on track:
- Use a ‘how’ question to draw the group towards the meeting’s purpose
- Apply your voice’s unique strengths as you speak your ‘how’ question
Remember to send me a confidential test sample via the snapshot service!
We can then discuss the success of your message; what worked and what is missing.
