Appreciate your voice

Most people, when asked about their voices, are quick to criticise.

Too quiet, too loud, flat, dull, too fast, too high, squeaky, croaky, unresponsive.

Dig deeper.

What is it that allows your voice to leave positive impressions about you and your style?

Its warmth, its energy, its vitality.

The way you ask questions, narrate an incident, share a joke, engage people to listen and respond.

The vast majority of voices, those that we are exposed to during the working day, have at least one quality that is appealing to others.

Look for this quality.

Take ownership of its contribution to your voice.

Make more of it each time you speak.

Take a step towards better appreciating your voice.
